When we think about what the JJJ festival stands for, we cannot say it any better than the Purpose Statement and Values stated in the festival’s Strategic Plan.

Purpose Statement: To support the Southern Downs community’s creative engagement and visitor economy

One of the cornerstone VALUES of the festival is

COMMUNITY -Owned and loved by the community, authentically local, supporting local

The JJJ Management Committee holds the overarching responsibility of the delivery of the festival, maintaining the integrity and passion for quality public and creative arts, music and performances.

The magic ingredient to the successful growth of this festival is linked with another of the festivals values –    ,

TEAM – Being a team with a shared vision

We consider the 52 other event hosts who will contribute to the program this year  to be an extension of our team, with a shared vision to bring the festival to life.    Most of these event host organisations are run by volunteers.  The businesses who host events also share the passion for community and are pleased to be part of the program because they value what the festival brings to our region.

Volunteers

How can we measure the value of the volunteer hours contributing to this festival?  It is not something that you can put a dollar value on.  We estimate more than 500 people volunteer each year.

From the management committees of the various host organisations, sub-committees,  yarn-bombed tree artists, yarntopian craftswomen who work all throughout the year to play their part in the program,  to the volunteers who might volunteer for a few days, for one day, or even a couple of hours,  each contribution is an essential element in the growth and success of this quirky winter festival.  We are in deep gratitude for every volunteer who contributes to Jumpers and Jazz in July.
